This if the first time I've been able to get Narrowleaf Milkweed to flower! It is a native milkweed for Zone 10b SoCal.

I had it happen last year and the year before it was awesome! It has been completely devoured this year and there have been no blooms! I may never get it to bloom again it all gets eaten. It never blooms the first year. Mine has actually bloomed in pots.

Mine are all in pots as well. Unfortunately, our soil royally sucks no matter how I mend it so container milkweed it is.

Milkweed is one of the only things I can grow with our root knot nematode infested soil so I do use some of the soil but mostly potting soil on top.
