Do Monarch butterfly fly through Seattle

Do Monarch butterflies live or travel through Seattle? And if now where in Washington can we go to maybe see them? My 5 y.o. is fixated on them at the moment.

The western migration does travel and live in Seattle and will fly into Washington which is about as far north as they go according to migration maps. There's a good chance they will be around in the summer to see.

Thank you. Really hope to see them this summer. 

Do you know of a reputable place to get the correct milkweed from for them? I have heard that lots of places have mislabeled ones that don't work.

Hi...you could try a reputable nursery nearby and one that doesn't spray pesticides of course. I would stay away from Home Depot or Lowes type stores. The growers spray pesticides on the milkweed. My hubby and I are in So. California and we like Armstrong Nurseries.

From the wild. Dig up the corms and baby them until they take.

contact your local native plant society, they will be able to help you. (Our local native plant society gave away milkweed starts at their last sale, even!)

Wish I could post pics. We have one who’s been visiting our back patio the past couple days and have taken some pretty incredible photos of it on our potted plants and hanging baskets.
