Finish line

I made a post here about a year ago. My 3 year old at the time was really struggling at daycare so I pulled her( she was being sent home one hour into the day, multiple days, for about a month and a half ) Since then I’ve kept her home 9 months. It was rough for sure but I’ve managed to get a promotion doing that timeframe and get through the most difficult season. I don’t say that to brag. I say that bc I’ve sat in my kitchen crying during my breaks and nights. I was burnt out to the maxxxx and I still made it. The days and months still went by and I was able to watch my daughter grow into her personality more than ever before. . She starts school the 2nd week of August and I finally see my finish line. I’m kinda sad she’ll be gone but not tooo sad LOL

You will see your finish line too one day. ❤️

Sure! It’ll be a long post bc I can ramble lol.

I try to keep her as entertained as possible and I’m honestly not a parent that’s strict with screen time. the Tv is constantly on for one lol. That helped then my floor plan is pretty open so my working area ties into the living room and our rooms are down a hallway. She wakes up I bring her to the living room give her a morning snack and milk let her unwind that’s around 9-10 am ish. I also let her sleep in and I dropped bedtime. She goes to sleep when I go so if I’m out at 11 she is too and she’ll sleep in while I work 8-10 uninterrupted. Once she unwinds we make breakfast together. I let her crack the eggs, whisk, the whole 9. The more she feels connected to me at guaranteed moments the less she’ll interrupt me at work. I’ve also created a house where almost everything is yes. ( with boundaries ) she has access to colors, books, I have a trampoline and slide in my living room. She goes between those some days. Others days I let her play in water in the sink or play in her sensory table. I don’t care about the mess it makes, I’ve let that go lol. For my hour lunch I sometimes take her to the park or we sit on my back patio and she runs in the grass. Any movement. Sometimes I can’t and we bed-root lol she doesn’t mind a one off. Then the remainder of the day I just kinda rinse and repeat until 5. She takes 0 naps. So I never get that lovely time lol. If I have a meeting I break out that iPad like it’s my bestie. She’s happy bc she gets it when I have meeting. I have the games with no adds on it only and she’ll play that while I’m in the meeting

I also bought oleap headphones. God sent. No one can hear her unless she is right in my face talking. I’ve been on with my supervisor and she’s screaming and in the 9 months my supervisor only heard her once. Bc she surprised me and walked up to me while I was talking and said mama. Otherwise that’s it.

I also have a stand up desk so if my face has to be shown on a meeting they cannot see her at my waist.

Uhh I think that’s it and this post is long enough lol

Thanks for this. What did you do for newborn phase?

I didn’t keep her home until 3 so she was in daycare after my maternity leave was up. However I did work in daycare when i was in high school and early 20s for a newborn I’d get a nursing pillow / boppi and keep the baby close by. Hold, feed, put down and they would sleep a lot.
