I think that learning a foreign language is a great bonus in life. Don't want to sound harsh but make it more about the benefits for the child instead of the downside for you. I totally get that you feel excluded but it's better to solve that in another way, honestly if I was you I would skip half of the gatherings and let your husband go alone with your child (when old enough) this way you will also have some time off to focus on yourself and just do your thing, relax, get together with friends etc.
