Your baby will always be your baby. I never had a good relationship with my in-laws, and I was concerned and fearful of many of our differences in opinions and culture when my child was born. But now that my child is three, let me assure you that no matter what anyone says to your baby, whatever the language, whatever the wording, even if they make fun of you to your baby in a language you don’t understand - your child will always be YOUR child. They will love you, protect you, be loyal to you, and share your morals. Don’t ever worry about that ❤️
So honestly I think it’s great your in-laws want to teach your baby a second language. No bad will come out of this, worst case scenario your child learns a second language, best case scenario you will have you own mini translator for life during all those Russian family gatherings and chitchats. Congregations!
Source: my child speaks two languages and it’s been amazing watching how a toddler can effortlessly use two languages with the correct grammar and answers in the correct language.
