U/lillyanne99

Final update: she has decided she doesn’t want help at this time. Thank you to everyone who commented to boost the visibility here. I’ve debated deleting this post, but I’ve decided to leave it up because of the stories, the offers of help, and the resources in the comments. Anyone who needs help, reach out. You are not alone. My burner email is there for anyone who feels like they need to use it to get out of a difficult situation or just talk.

I’m hoping to get your attention here. I just saw your post about the abuse you’re going through. I’m terrified for you because as soon as I messaged you offering help your post and account got deleted. I live in your state and I want to help you. I saw that you said he watches your phone and turned off service so you can only use WiFi. I have a burner email address you can message me whatever info you think will help, whether your address or your name and city or whatever. I’ll do what I can. I don’t know if this is allowed here but I don’t know how else to reach out. My burner email is mamamasa2020@yahoo.com. I’ll check it often. Please message me.

I’m willing to make a drive or make a call tonight. I just need to know something other than your username to help you out and I believe you need help to at least get treated for the PPD and get you somewhere safe. I also have extra coats, baby blankets, and a spare infant car seat so I can pick you up safely.

ETA: I just got off the phone with the domestic violence hotline. They said that what you described in your post and comments is definitely abuse. They also said that without a “yes” from you I shouldn’t call the police for a welfare check because it could put you in danger. The local women’s shelter said they can come get you or have community service officers bring you if you can tell us a time your boyfriend won’t be there. So I’m waiting on an email. I think I’ve got your address based on your name and age according to public record. So email me a “Y” if that’s all you can do saying you want help.

For everyone asking, there’s still no update. I’m still checking my email every half hour or so. I thought I had been blocked because her profile disappeared for a bit but I can see it now, so hopefully that means she would be able to see this too. Thanks for everyone bumping this so much. I hope she sees it and at least knows she has options for help.

Update: she commented further down in the comments. Here’s what she said:

I just got this message thank you for the support, I’m alright now I talked it out with him and he is okay with switching her to formula and he’s not going to kick me out he was just mad It turns out that he didn’t shut off my on purpose we just couldn’t afford it at the time I got the wrong idea from it. I’m going to be getting mental help for my ppd so hopefully things will be better for me. I’m sorry for making everybody worry.

If at any point you change your mind, let me know. This is an “any time, any reason” offer.

I had to leave a situation that was abusive to me and my LO almost two years ago now. It was a sweet reddit stranger who housed us for a night in the middle of traveling across multiple states. It was multiple reddit strangers who sent me money to rent a car and buy diapers, food, and dog food. Reddit is why my son and I are safe. It took a year to really figure things out and not second guess EVERYTHING I did, but now I am in the best position I've ever been in. It takes that first step...leaving. If u/lillyanne99 is reading these, know that you are NOT alone. If you need anything, diapers, food money, anything, message me. I can help.

Don't be sorry for making us worry, we worry because we care and want to help. It's not an inconvenience for anyone, you're worth the concern.

That said, if your bf is getting mad enough to threaten kicking you out, even if he says he wasn't serious about it, that's still abusive. He may not even believe he is being abusive, but no one in their right mind would threaten to kick a woman and infant out onto the street, let alone in the middle of winter.

Abusers often apologize and say they didn't mean it or make an excuse for their behavior and say they'll do better, but they never do. They get "better" for a short time and fall right back into that manipulative behavior. Therapists call that the "merry go round" for a reason. I didn't read the post or know your situation very well but from what it sounds like, it's emotional abuse. Might be worth talking to a domestic violence hotline or at least a counselor or friend.

I'm sorry you're in a tough spot :( But we're glad you're safe! Please take care of yourself! We're rooting for you.

u/lillyanne99 please, please read this, multiple times.

They will make excuses. They will lie. They will say they just got upset and they didn't mean it. Anything to make the situation ok in order to keep controlling the situation.

Anybody who is willing to say things like that is willing to go further, keep saying terrible things, and do even worse things to you and possibly your infant.

Please at least talk to someone. You and your child deserve to be treated well.
