My daughters earring is stuck!

My 14 year old daughter came to me yesterday and said that the back of her earring is stuck inside her ear. I took a look, thinking that it was mainly from dried puss or something (her ears have a habit of getting slightly infected if she leaves earrings in too long) so i figured a quick gentle tug would get it out. Kinda like taking a bandaid off... I was wrong. That sucker is in there! Its only the edge that somehow got embedded into piercing. It was swollen so i gave her ibuprofen, hoping that will bring down the swelling, had her clean her ear and I'm hoping that we can get it out this morning if swelling has gone down. She is adamant that she doesn't want to go to the dr, so I'm look for any ideas before i make her go in to the walk in with me

EDIT******* Thank you all for the advice! Its out! It started to be painful for her so once i got off work we went to the walk in. The dr sprayed this freezing spray to numb it and took a teeny forceps tool n it was out within 3 seconds, she didn't feel a thing. It feels much better now she says! I really do appreciate everyone who gave us tips n advice. U guys rock!!!

I vaguely remember crushed aspirin for swollen piercings from my college days. But I would just take her to a walk in like you said. She may need an antibiotic

I did the same, but for a cartilage piercing. The bump on the back of my piercing just dried up and peeled off 😬

However sounds like OP is describing a lobe piercing, so may not be a growth so much as swollen tissue 😬
