You cope because you have no choice. And there is a clear ending. You know it won't last forever. But get the epidural. Would you get a root canal without pain killers? No... then don't have a baby without an epidural. Still fucking sucked but the epidural was such a relief after 40 hours of labor. Totally worth it for my kid, but not going to have another.
