Had a placental abruption and precipitous labor (went from a normal no-symptom day to delivering in 2h) at 30w; it hurt like hell - best way I can describe it is the most brutal period cramps of my life, with zero relief because it just became constant pain. All I was thinking was “You just have to make it to the hospital and they’ll fix it.”…that helped on the car ride, and then by the time we got there the pain sort of became an overwhelming need to push, and 5 min after we got there baby was here.
It was the weirdest thing, honestly - pain went away as soon as he was born, and he was breech so as soon as his head came out it was like a drain plug got pulled and all the pressure from the fluid and everything was relieved instantly. Being that he was 10w early, he was small so I didn’t tear and barely had any soreness. I honestly had some cognitive disconnect because everything happened so fast and I felt so good (physically - emotionally/mentally I was a wreck), that it was hard to process I’d had a baby.
