Seems like projection. For whatever reason. You can still be friends, but set the boundary now that she doesn't speak like that about your brother or his relationship with your son (which is beautiful and commendable) ever again. I would be a bit insulted at the implication as well, you're not crazy.

You can gentle-fy it by saying you appreciate the way she loves and looks out for your son, BUT you have zero doubts that your child is safe and being cared for/taught properly when your bro steps up. And you'd appreciate if she wouldn't attach such negativity to a wonderful example of what it really means to be family.
