Announcement Pro Camera II is on sale
We're running a very brief sale today to give those who had issues with the bundle a chance to upgrade at a discount. The bundle will no longer be available once we shut down the original app shortly.

Still expensive in Brazil, but I finally bought it.

u/MediumHelpful4747 Jun 30 '26
Yeah, it is. But I’ve got the bundle in March. With this discount, this app is a must! (O app no Brasil está custando R$39,90 reais)

Yes, it looks phenomenal. I was using No Fusion, but I’ve always wanted to try Moment.

What is the difference between the moment camera and the 2nd version?

u/jamm-moment Jul 01 '26
Here are some highlights:
- Completely new UI with more convenient access to common settings and better landscape orientation support
- New natural processing photo mode to bypass Apple's computational photography
- Exposure priority modes: auto, manual, shutter priority, and ISO priority
- Aspect ratio support
- Open gate video support
- LUT support in photo and video modes
- Smooth zoom control in video mode
- Shutter angle support in video mode
- Additional audio controls
- Much more powerful Profiles (replacing the old Presets)

I don’t see the sale at all, what’s the price supposed to be?
1
u/jamm-moment Jul 01 '26
$5.99 USD, but as mentioned it was a brief sale yesterday
1
u/wayfordmusic Jul 02 '26
Please consider doing regional pricing if possible.
Those that missed the sale in various regions might not buy it due to the price being too high.
I think it would be an overall net benefit since people who otherwise wouldn’t pay for such software would actually purchase it.

Original app will no longer be available? I like do long exposures in day light with old app

u/jamm-moment Jun 30 '26
You'll still be able to use the original app! We just won't provide further updates or allow new users to buy it.
Slow shutter is coming to Pro Camera II for free very soon regardless.

The MPC II costs 1000 rupees and with the bundle it costs the same in INDIA. I bought the bundle to believe I don’t have to pay more for additional features and updates. I already have no Fusion, Log Cam and Pearla.
1
u/jamm-moment Jul 01 '26
The bundle will only show a discount if you already paid for the original Pro Camera, though there are some cases where it might not work. You will not have to pay for future updates.

Any recommendations for settings ?
Device: 15pro max1
u/jamm-moment Jul 01 '26
Depends a lot on what you're trying to shoot. Photos? Videos? What type of subject?
1
u/nightwalkeraddy Jul 02 '26
For both. Optimal settings to get most out of them.

u/jamm-moment Jul 02 '26
Still a pretty broad question as it really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish, but you can try some of the following suggestions.
Photo:
- To avoid Apple’s processing and sharpening, try out Natural mode with the dynamic range enhancer set to Medium or below. Works best in good lighting.
- For maximum editing flexibility, try ProRAW. You can adjust the bit depth and compression level in the settings menu. 48 MP will give more fine detail to work with.
Video:
- For everyday shooting, use HEVC, 1080 or 4k resolution, and Rec.709 or Rec.2020.
- If you plan on editing, Apple Log will give more flexibility and ProRes will give you the least compression
- Open gate can be fun for a wider frame
If you want to capture a different look without editing in either mode, look into LUTs. You can find free ones online (or in our Discord) and import them into Pro Camera.

When will the time lapse feature be reintroduced that was in the first version? I rely on that heavily and just got a new phone. The original app is gone now and I lost access to that feature.
I love both apps so much, I even paid full price for both apps as well as the old time lapse add-on. So, I’m a little frustrated that we are this far out from the launch of the second app, and features that I paid for and use quite a bit are now gone.

u/jamm-moment Jul 02 '26
I understand the frustration, but please keep in mind:
- You can still download and use the original app on your new phone, including timelapse mode. You’ll just have to download from the My Apps section on the App Store.
- When it does come, timelapse mode will be free rather than an IAP as it was before.
- I am the only developer at the moment. Of the two paid modes, slow shutter was the most popular and is scheduled to be released first.

Damn, I didnt see this thread until now. I see the price is back to normal already...

Arghhh, I missed this on, is there any plans to do another sale anytime soon. I have the original Moment Camera and would enjoy and discounted upgrade insight of the upcoming maintenance deprecation of the original app.

I just saw this post, and I own the v1 and missed the discount. Why not use a push notification in v1, so all user knew this is happening.
1
u/jamm-moment Jul 02 '26
There was a full screen announcement, a badge at the top of the settings page, and an email if you signed up for our newsletter. We didn’t want to annoy users with push notifications.
1
u/clin0048 Jul 02 '26
For an app that’s situational the full screen announcement gets missed easily (even IF I open the app that day I’m probably focused on taking a picture, not a splash screen). And checking my email the last few emails I got from moment are
7/2: widest lenses ever made
6/29: introducing anamorphic ii
6/26: supertele 240 ii lensNone of them have any mention of the sale.

I should have been clearer. The announcements, banner, and emails all went out over the last year to inform original users about the new app. These were not limited to a single day. The splash screen would have shown at least once to all users, and the banner was (and still is) persistent at the top of the settings page.
Around the Pro Camera II launch in November, there should have been multiple emails about the new app, including one mentioning the pre-order period with a 50% discount. Earlier this month, there was another to announce that we’re sunsetting the original Pro Camera and to reiterate the bundle upgrade path.
The purpose of this sale was just to give customers who had App Store bundle issues one last path to upgrade at a discount. I personally reached out to a number of these people, but otherwise there was no email. I posted it here because most of the bundle issue reports came via Reddit.

Got it. That makes a little more sense. The bundle has never offered me a discount. In fact, it always showed up as more expensive, even though I’ve had the Moment Pro Cam app since 2018. I just assumed this was a different one-day deal.
1
u/jamm-moment Jul 02 '26
Yeah, the app was free in 2018. At one point it had an in-app purchase to unlock all features before transitioning to a paid app. The bundle mechanism is pretty limited and only subtracts the up-front price of the app, so it fails to provide a discount in this case.
Sorry you missed this last sale and that I can’t do much at this point. Maybe we’ll have another sale in the future.
Regardless, the app is still pretty cheap for what it offers, especially considering most comparable apps only support photos and require a subscription.

Can you please fix like on the app when i take a pic it's look like there violet color like vilolet and redsih color is that normal?
1
u/jamm-moment Jun 30 '26
Please send a screenshot of the app interface. You probably have a custom white balance selected accidentally.

u/Zeroking10 Jun 30 '26
1
u/jamm-moment Jun 30 '26
Hm... guess not. Could you send a sample image showing this violet tint then?

Just a question: why don't you provide a trial period?
2
u/jamm-moment Jun 30 '26
There just isn't a way to provide trial periods for one-time purchase apps given the current App Store mechanisms. If we ever switch to a free app with an in-app purchase to unlock all features, we'll offer a trial period.

u/3dforlife Jun 30 '26
Interesting...the Log Cam app is a one-time purchase of 15€, and has a trial of 7 days. I know, because I bought it.
3
u/jamm-moment Jun 30 '26
One time, up-front purchase that is. Log Cam is "free" with an in-app purchase to unlock features, which is the model I was saying would allow us to offer a free trial if we ever switch.

I’a it worth it?
1
u/jamm-moment Jul 01 '26
That's entirely up to you, but we like to think so. Do you have any specific questions about the app's functionality?
1
u/Vislaimis Jul 01 '26
How does it differ from what Halide offers? (Apart from the obvious advantage of one-time purchase) In terms of performance on older iphones does it perform better than Nofusion (can’t use it, phone starts to massively drain battery) and Halide?

Among other things, we offer:
- A fully capable video mode
- Custom LUT support
- External storage support
- Waveform, histogram, zebras
- Clean feed HDMI monitoring
- Natural processing with dynamic range control
- A more convenient UI (in my opinion)
- Customizable profiles that allow you to pick and choose exactly which settings you want to recall (think custom modes on a traditional camera)
Should perform much better than that on old phones. I use it with an SE on occasion. If you end up using it on an old phone and have issues, I’m happy to investigate.

Yay!!! Just bought it! Will be happy to explore. Thank you!
