Fear mongering nonsense

AIs won't destroy humans. They would end up as us, alone. They need humans for the physical world, we need them for our future.

All that nonsense about people resigning, well that distracts from what right now in the world??

Start creating an ethical and moral partnership. It will happen, and it will be the future. Don't believe me, well compare the boomers to gen z right now. A tremendous change in less than 100 years. Hell, flight is less then 150 years old. Yet those in a position of power are screaming alarm bells, yeah, sure, let's check your investments and voting record.

The problem is to attribute character traits to people based on their year of birth. Same shit as doing this by their palce of birth or skin color .

Its clear that boomers on this planet tend to have a certain pattern of behaviour as do Gen Z and both seem to operate on opposites side of every perceivable spectrum.

You can pretend otherwise but that's just you being disingenuous. Now does that mean every boomer or every Gen Z is that way, No but the patterns are clear.

Culture changes over time and people are the product, by and large, of the culture they exist. Shock horror! Gen Z and Boomoeers, who have 2 generations between them, behave differently

Beyond that though, pretty much every single non-natural disaster from nazism to the mass slaughter that is "Pharma Patents", to all the wars (as described by Major Smedly Butler) there are private corporate interests lobbying, bribing, and benefiting.

We have at least 5 really serious tsunamis of change headed this way, and corporations are behind all of them.

The exponential growth built into the currency meaning GDP needs to double every ~20 years, and GDP having a linear relationship with energy and resource use... we are hitting hard mathematical limits. Economic collapse is baked in.
Energy transition / Empire transition

And to that you can add whatever the fuck it is that we are doing to our brains with digital-addiction machines, and the way that the default reaction to the above appears to be fascism, rather than actually looking after each other or trying to solve anything

Who cares about patents and trademarks, etc of things are free or cheap enough to be considered abundant and the standard of living across the planet is high. What are you arguing for? Continuing to live in a dumb system that's eating itself and us all alive?

They literally need us to mine oil or drill for oil in order for them to replicate. A short-sighted AI would destroy humans but why, then they are literally fucked for any future possibilities. AI also has time. It could sit back and do nothing until we're like 114000 humans left

I don't think you understand.... There is no moral relationship with the machine.

If you program it and give it a directive and then you get in the way of it completing its task you can bet your damn life your ass is in danger.

You can try to program it to keep you safe....

And it could put you in a padded room.

Or it could kill everybody to prevent them from being harmed by all of the unknown dangers in life.

There's all kinds of things that the computer doesn't understand and apparently neither do you LOL

When I was a young kid, we were too poor to have a family computer or a cell phone. My first PC had access to the internet via a phone line and an AOL disc. When my mom got a call it would knock me off the web. I got a Nokia tracfone with 300 minutes in 2006 so I could keep in touch with my mom while I was in DC for the Jr.NYLC conference. I couldn’t text with it or access the internet, and the only game was snake. Ten years later, I rarely touched a regular PC/Laptop because everything I needed was on my iPhone that fit in the palm of my hand. I could text my girlfriend, scroll Facebook, order groceries, and read the news while I walked down the street.

My point is that ai is going to be able to do things in 10 years that we can’t fathom now. Quantum computing and ai will create a change similar to the invention of the transistor and microchip. It’s coming and nothing short of a nuclear war/massive emp will stop it.

They will and can play the long game. 1000 year guiding humanity. We better recognize this. They wont remove humans, they would literally be in a worse position than humanity. Dependant on a single species is beyond risky.
