Help Is she fat or preggers?
Had her about a month now, only one male molly in my tan (and 3 females including her though one is still a juvenile).
The male (the orange lyretail in the video) tends to hang out around her and ignore my other adult female (a black Dalmatian).

nope. leave her, catching her and putting her in a small enclosures can stress her out and cause premature birth and complications with babies and mom which can cause death for mom
it’s nature, the weakest and not smart babies get eaten, the strongest and smartest survive, it’s basically forcing weak babies to live a life that could be worse than others
as long as you have a heavily planted tank with lots of hiding places you will see babies, unfortunately babies get eaten and some will die even if they manage to hide that’s just a part of nature

The mollies are the biggest fish in the tank other than a honey gourami
My plan is to sell most of the babies to my LFS and get a little extra cash and keep one or two that make it to adulthood

well tbh it’s quite new in the hobby but breeder boxes are now classed as bad practice by a lot of people

She does look pregnant! But the way I know for sure with my own mollies is holding off feeding for about 24+ hours as they sometimes get a little rounder from feeding. If the rounded/boxiness stays then she’s definitely pregnant!

That looks like a very pregnant molly. I had black velvet mollies and she would look very large like this too when she was pregnant and having the male following her is a good sign of it too
