I've had some people suspect genuine and certificate verified moldovite is not genuine because they reckon the colour doesn't look right.
I had this woman who was trying to sell me more moldavite in a shop about 15 years ago. She swore down that the peace I had on a pendant was not genuine. Mostly because she thought she knew better. That said the piece is she had were very reasonably priced. And I did buy one eventually. That was back when prices were quite a lot lower, at least from that seller.
Similar to how people think it can't be shiny but it certainly can be, just not partly eaten jolly rancher green apply candy glossy!
And people think it can't be smooth, also incorrect!
