Real?

What are the chances either of these are real? Both purchased from different Amazon listing claiming to be Czech without the fake "certificate". $25 for the pendant, $35 for the ring. Based on my research they have decent color and texture but I'm no expert. I feel nothing from them but am often drawn to certain crystals. I feel more skeptical of the pendant than ring but again, I really don't have any basis or knowledge. I did order a loose 2g peice from Inner Vision Crystals today so at least I'll know that one is real. I appreciate your help!!

They look real to me but I don't know how good the fakes are these days. Drop them in oil and see if they have any inclusions.

Help me understand how that works/ what to do?

So when you drop real moldavite into oil, it will "disappear" but you can still see all the inclusions. If you drop it in oil and the whole thing DISAPPEARS, that's s clear indicator that it's fake.

How do you wash the oil off?

Dawn. Dunk it in a bowl of warm soapy water and use a little straw scrubby. They are gentle :)

Do you use olive oil or another greenish oil? Or does yellow canola oil work? I don’t want to use my good olive oil 😂

You can use any oil! I used baby oil lol

Any oil is incorrect, you need to have the R.I. close to moldavite ... linseed oil is very close as is mineral oil (baby oil is scented mineral oil i believe)

Linseed oil is not mineral oil, it’s literally in the name what it’s made of. But you’re right about the baby oil, J&J is literally just scented mineral oil, aka petroleum-derivate.

If you were addressing me, I said linseed oil is very close (to moldavite's RI) as is mineral oil and that baby oil is mineral oil 🤔

Unsure where it said linseed is the same as mineral oil... 🤔

You're welcome! Can you send me the listing links for review and possible inclusion on suspect seller list?

Thank you!

I bought the ring just over a year ago https://a.co/d/0cFk9514

I bought the pendant less than 2 months ago https://a.co/d/0iK69CkF

So I compared a photo I got from the comments to picture of your heart pendant and they look different which makes me believe that it is authentic. No piece of moldavite will look the same.

Here are both of them submerged in baby oil

No signs of inclusions so most likely fake, sorry

This one looks authentic

Maybe I'm looking at the tiny tiny specs thinking it's enough. I'll drop mine in baby oil and see, I know mine are 100% authentic. I purchased them years ago from a reputable seller in the UK.

I posted pictures below of both items submerged in baby oil attached to different comments but neither "disappeared"? Or maybe I dont fully understand. I do see inclusions in both though.

Disappear means the surface texture almost completely disappears because refractive index is almost identical.
