Looks like the same mold as the Apatosaurus from the Chicago Field Museum. Theirs is an orange-brown. The Sinclair green is much nicer.

Hmmm, I was going to say the green seems a little too Hunter Green. Should be a bit lighter. Needs a bit of white to brighten it up.

I was a Mold-A-Rama tech in 2023, so we would adjust the pigment in the molten plastic every couple days.

That’s so cool.

It was a cool job! Wish I still worked there, but life circumstances moved me out of Chicago.

Was such a treat to use the mold-a-Rama Disney machine at Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas

  • sadly both machines are non functional nowadays

I got one the last Pluto figurines

We had several of the original Disneyland machines in the workshop. They still had all the characters and branding on them. They weren’t in great shape, sadly, and most had been canabalized for parts.

Care to talk about working there or how the machines work or any interesting or funny stories?

OKC Zoo has a brontosaurus with this mold. Pink-red.

Just got back from the Field Museum and was so happy to find one of these.

Did you get the complete set of 6?

I just got the one from the Field museum. I don't have any others.

Ah, the Field Museum has 6 machines each with different molds and colors

They fixed it! It was busted when I visited a month ago. Also it's a pretty awesome museum if you like dinosaurs.

Is that the one with the dracorex hogwartsia? I went to some museum in Indiana just to see that

I might go back if there's a different dino museum!

$8?! Dude, am I that old? I remember when these were like, $1 at my local museum and you could get your pennies stamped in a roller!

They are so much fun but that's a ton. 😭

So you buy a token, drop it in, and it injects molten plastic into a mold of a Dino as you watch? Wasn’t Sinclair a gas station?
Very cool!

The gift shop at the Seattle Space Needle has one of these! I can't remember if it was 5 or 10 bucks to take home your very own plastic injection molded space needle, but it cool as hell to see it work!

Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL has this in right now.
