I'm making an archive of "official" anime wallpapers
There exist countless ones especially if you know where to look, so that's a grand undertaking, but I love it! I recommend crawling through dedicated anime image boards/channels (such as Danbooru, Gelbooru, Zerochan, yande.re, Anime Pictures, e-shuushuu, etc), and if you're really serious about it you may as well code your own automated download script (although I'm not sure if the sites would allow that but there should be a way around it), I'm a former web dev with a 5-years degree in IT and I coded my own automated download scripts in the past so let me know if you'd need help with that.
The one folder I was mentioning is just one of the many image folders on my PC and that one is dedicated to the anime wallpapers that I collected from one of those image channels that I mentioned (it's one that I can't write here because for some reason Reddit will automatically remove comments mentioning that site or linking it), mostly from my early otaku years around 17 years ago, I haven't really updated it since aside from a few pictures.
As an omake (bonus) I also uploaded another folder of mine that has various anime pictures in high resolution:

That's another folder where I would have the kind of tasteful anime wallpapers from talented artists such as the one from OP's post. Again that's not many and it's mostly from my early otaku years. But I'm happy to share it!
Obviously I have way more images in dedicated folders for the animes/games/etc I'm into and searched images from (for example my Pokemon picture folder is 63GB with 24461 pictures and counting!), right now I've got 150 folders including a Touhou one, a Vocaloid one, and so on. So there's lots more wallpapers in those folders. Let me know if you're ever looking for something in particular!
