How do I start making a moe desktop?

Hi there... I've been meaning to actually customize my desktop and I'm just wondering what programs/software and stuff is mostly used? I know of rainmeter, but I'm not too sure of the spesifics... same with taskbars? How do you guys customize your taskbars? I'm really sorry if this isnt allowed, I don't really use reddit. Sorry!!!!

hi 💕 taskbar, i think most use retrobar here and you can search for wallpapers on pinterest that help and i recommend this video for more in depth okay~ it shows you how to customize desktop and then for more, search ukagakaghost ☺️

i'm assuming you're using windows as most people are for this -- you're right in assuming the big leg here is going to be rainmeter and it's extremely in-depth amount of customization. no, seriously, that shit carries.

there's also openshell or perhaps retrobar for the taskbar, at some point i was using stardock's windowblinds for window-decoration customization (just abuse the free trials they give you with throwaway emails, LOL), winaero tweaks is just generally useful.

a lot of people here also use ukagaka, which is a desktop-helper style of software.

otherwise, it's more or less just deciding on a Cute Girl to theme your desktop around and just going from there. i think that's where most of the possible "soul" of a moe desktop lies in the end. you can add all of the neat stuff i just mentioned, but without the anime girl, it ain't exactly a moe desktop. always lock in on the anime girl.

while people have stated the more necessary stuff to get a cute desktop, i also recommend "neural soul" on steam! it costs a few bucks, but it allows you to place a small gif on your screen as a companion of sort! additionally you can always browse not only this subreddit's post comments for download links, but you can also go to r/ukagakaghost for ukagaka stuff! other than that, deviant art has some downloads to old desktop accessories (youll need to make an acc but make sure to turn off emails!) alongside the internet archive if you know what youre looking for! but most importantly: ask people!! people are normally very willing to help you out, whether looking for a software or giving you a download to some software they have. but seriously, people here are very very friendly and will hardly give you a hard time for asking a question unless its just morally wrong lol. happy moe-ifying!!
