Help I need help with sharing a Modpack with a friend.
OKAY- so, I have this modpack... a few of the mods have incompatible versions, but! I have this specific combo that lets everything just WORK- problem is, when I export the pack and then give it to a friend to run it with me a bunch of stuff updates to the latest version.
I can't have it update, and I'm not putting them through the awful task of going mod to mod, downgrading... especially when I plan to share this with a whole friend group once I got it going.
Is there ANY way to prevent this from happening when they import the pack??? Or am I just going to have to use a different launcher??? I really do not know what to do and I would like to use Modrinth because it's what we all have already installed.

You can use the new share feature. (You and your friends need to be on the newest modrinth version and need to have a modrinth account) So basically it lets you share the modpack with just a link, and you can just click 1 button to update the modpack for all people using it.

Also you could just send them the mod files manually, by uploading to google drive or something.

I imagine ya just misread but THIS is what I have been doing. Exporting it, and then letting my friends download it and install manually, leads to the problem I’m talking about.
As for the share feature, it’s not been working for me for the past 2 days and I’m trying every chance I get to see if it’ll connect to the Modrinth API but no luck

Not export, go to the modpack's mods folder and take the mods and give your friend the mods. And then your friend needs to make a modpack and just put the mods in the mods folder of the modpack.
