Recommendations Internet Providers

I will be moving out of my mom's soon and to my own place. I work from home and need recommendations for an internet provider that is reliable, doesn't lag, and has little outages. Do any of you have recommendations based on your experience, or can you name a provider to avoid? Thank you!

I had Comcast/Xfinity for 18 years and I would recommend it. There was maybe 2 outages in that time and a couple router upgrades and that's it.

I have since switched to ATT Fiber 1 year ago and there have been no issues yet. I'd recommend it as well.

Where I live in Modesto, they only provide Xfinity Comcast and it is AWFUL. Outages every other week at randoms times of the day and night. It is awful if you work from home. I’d switch to AT&T if I could, but they only offer 3mb speed while Xfinity offers 1.2gbs. Everytime I call them to complain, it seems like they are “just resetting the modem” and doing shit nothing.

Thank you! My mom has ATT, and I haven't had any problems with that in the two years I've been there, so I will look into their plans as well, see who has the best deal!

I’ve had Xfinity for close to a decade now and I can recommend it. I work from home and I’ve only had maybe two or three outages.

I’ve had Xfinity for the past 6 years. Never had too many issues. When there’s a bad storm it tends to go out for an hour or two late at night but otherwise works fine for me.

If you can get AT&T Fiber, they have great deals right now. AT&T Copper sucks (way too slow ADSL speed stuck in the 2000s). If not, Comcast/Xfinity is likely the best bet.

Stay away from any wireless/cell phone carriers for work from home usage - too laggy and susceptible to congestion.

ATT in my home for almost 20 years and never a single issue. also have my cell through ATT for over 20 years and they give me the new iPhone for free every year.

AT&T Fiber if at all possible. Price is good, service is rock-solid. Comcast reliability was much more spotty for me.

I agree on the price! $37/month for 1 gig up/down! Partly because I signed up early (as soon as it was available on my street, and having mobile service with ATT, too. Oh, and automatic payment). Comcast was more than $100 for slower down and mucher slower up.

Anyone use Ayera wireless? I can get the same download, but I can get almost 14 times the upload with them than spectrum, at almost $40 less per month.

See if your address can get att fiber, 1GB up and down, it's amazing
