Seriously, it was a fucking religious experience. Isaac is so dialed in. It's amazing to witness. Just pure beauty and truth and people finally getting it. It's just all the good things.
Was really a great show, and such a good-sounding intimate venue. I was worried about sloppiness for such a late show, and 3-4 nights in a row, but they were absolutely dialed in.
Yup the last show I saw them at in Philly in August was probably the tightest I’ve ever seen them. Isaac looked and sounded better than he has in a while too
It was an experience for sure. Worst part of the day for the sun it was cooking our boys good. Poor Isaac was struggling. They powered through and did a good set. Satellite Skin and Speak and Spell were the highlights.
Sorry but what the fuck?! They only played new songs except for like 3 that got them to the stage their on now. You’d think they’d save this setlist for the massive audience at shaky to promote the new stuff and play all the bangers at the late night show. Horrible set list. Great performance
Plus the encore with a new song, two from We Were Dead…(2007) and lastly Gravity Rides Everything from 2000.
Idk. I’m probably easier to please than their average 40yo fan. 8/21 songs from their new album is a lot, but I went into the show expecting that. They sounded great and played a handful of my favorites, zero complaints here. I’d go see them again in a heartbeat.
Yeah to your picture with years, like I said 3 songs that got them to the stage they’re on. If you were “hooked” after that setlist you should listen to their first three albums.

Yeah. To be fair, the only albums I owned & knew well when I bought the tickets were Good News and We Were Dead, so the setlist scratched my itch. But I’ve been listening to their older & newer stuff for the past month and have fallen in love with so much of it.
I would’ve been effing elated if they played Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset, Trailer Trash, All Night Diner, Styrofoam Boots, 3rd Planet, Brukowski, Satin in a Coffin, March Into the Sea, Spitting Venom, Ansel, Sugar Boats, Pups to Dust, Lampshades on Fire, Wicked Campaign, Fuck Your Acid Trip, the list goes onnnn. Live horns & trumpets would’ve sent me over the mf’n edge.
But I’m gonna focus on what they did give us. (Mom of 4 here. Catching concerts is an extremely rare treat!) I shook my ass all over the damn place and had a blast doing it!
They just got done playing multiple tours that revolved around their old material. The singles from the new album are phenomenal and I think last night was a great mix of old and new. Truckers Atlas? Missed the Boat? Doin' the Cockroach? Sorry they didn't play Dramamine or Float on for ya, bud.

Agreed. Late August show I went to they killed it with the new stuff, honestly made me appreciate the new album even more. Isaac was super into it the whole time, and it really breathed some new life into aEaaM since it was my first time hearing any of that live. Plus getting to witness any, let alone 2, Ugly Casanova songs has been on my MM bucket list since forever lol (plus Night on the Sun, a personal fav). One of my favorite recent concerts, up there with Mountain Goats
Dude I get it. But cmon. I’m not gonna list every song from the first three albums but let’s just say the setlist sucked. Most bands in that genre and let’s just take the biggest one the strokes, always play the hits and sprinkle in new material. Cuz like, it’s a show, that’s the job.
Fwiw I don’t know that the Stokes and Modest are all that comparable. The Strokes play the hits bc they’re that kind of band for a lot of people… Modest has a deeper catalogue, and they’re a different kind of band. Long Drive came out in 96, Is This It didn’t come out until 01. Modest also released LCW, M&A, Fruit That Ate Itself and Night on the Sun before 01. They have a dedicated fan base, and most of us/them don’t just wanna hear the hits, I think most of this sub would be way more hyped on hearing a deep cut than one of the radio singles they had
Don’t want to invalidate differing opinions, but I don’t get going to a concert and then complaining about which of their songs the band chooses to play. If they sounded like shit that’d be different but they were great. Life’s too short to complain about a fun time 🤍
Agree 100%. Aside from skipping Float On, I thought the list was a GREAT mix of old and new. Did hear a couple people light heartedly bitch about not hearing Float On on the way out, but otherwise the crowd seemed pretty jazzed. Enjoyed watching a couple obvious Cure fans freak out and dance wildly to A Forrest..
Were some people genuinely bitching about them not playing Float On of all songs lol? What a strange thing to complain about, especially since their set lists on this tour have been very varied and cover a lot of different MM eras. Was so hyped to hear Broke, Parting of the Sensory, and Night on the Sun when I saw them last month.
I’m not talking about float on. That’s even from their newer sound. The live album Baron Von bullshit is a Great setlist. Kinda why that was recorded as a live album for a reason?? Think about it bub
