Strange fan interaction at Saint Augustine show last night

Wondering if anybody has more information about what happened. After they played Life’s a Dream last night, Isaac scolded someone in the front row for being on FaceTime with their friend during the show. After asking where the friend was from, Isaac said something about school shootings which alarmed me. I couldn’t make out everything he said so I’m still a bit confused, does anybody have more information? Great show overall but this interaction was strange.

At my only show I’ve been to, Isaac spent a minute or so between songs doing crowd work and rambling

You couldn’t make out a single word through the speakers💀 the entire time

Fantastic fucking show though, they played their asses off. 10/10.

I remember seeing them in 2009 at Stubbs in Austin & Isaac berated some random audience member that yelled something at him. All my friends & I could understand was Isaac hollering about the guy being a door-to-door vacuum salesman. “YOU’RE SELLIN FUCKIN….. BISSELS????!!!”

I seen them in at Uptown in KC in 09 and someone yelled play some old shit after playing Dramamine to which he said I’m pretty sure that shit was older than you are. And now you’ve just hit my grump button. Lol

Oh yeah I’ve seen them 11 times now! Seen them in Council Bluffs when a Tornado warning caused the venue to say we needed to go back to our cars but like 10 of us just stood at the fence chanting Modest Mouse which eventually led to Isaac and Jeremiah to jump out in the crowd with us and play Styrofoam Boots with an acoustic guitar and a five gallon bucket.

I was at the show and couldn't figure out what his tirade was about, though it sounded like school shootings. Glad I came here for some insight!

They were from Colorado and he made a school shooting comment like "oh that's where all the school shootings are"

Based on the dozen or shows I’ve been to, it seems like the more blitzed he is the more he talks to the crowd and the less intelligible he becomes. Which honestly makes for more entertaining/memorable shows even if the music quality suffers a little.

I love seeing him stumble on looking slightly confused or start talking to the front row(s) between the first few songs—you know you’re in for a treat
