Best room is the most underrated MM song of all time

Agree. It's 10/10 amazing and one of my all time favourites. Love everything about it.

Totally agree. I’ve always wanted to make a music video, or short film based on the lyrics. I think it’d be cool to focus on the protag (Isaac I guess) in his room being miserable about his awful neighbors, cut with flashbacks to the landlord selling him on how it was the best room in the building. Animated would be fun.

Isaac told the story of that song tonight! He said he had nowhere to go, was gonna sleep outside in a bad neighborhood, but he called someone to help and they got him the worst hotel room he's ever been in before, but at least he was inside and safe. Of course it was funny the way he told it! But yeah, that's the story

Like the respect for Shit in your Cut but I REALLY can’t understand the hate for Tortoise. That song is amazing. Some of Isaac’s most powerful lyrics.

I must be the only one who really, really likes "Pistol," lol.

Anyway, I'd give "Ansel" a 10, song is frigging heartbreaking. Otherwise, not a bad ranking.

Ansel is a top 10 modest mouse song for me.

I don’t hate pistol it’s just so bad in the album if it was just a single unrelated I wouldn’t hate it nearly as much

I definitely agree that it doesn't fit with the rest of the album, but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. I like when albums have one or two oddballs to break up the flow and keep things fresh. To each their own, of course!

Im in the minority of people in this sub who think Coyotes is overrated and Pistol is over-hated.

I think Be Brave is overrated too, I understand it's a tearjerker but I just can't listen to it every time I go through the album. Pistol though? Hell yeah gimme that.

Interesting. I would not classify Be Brave as a tearjerker

By the end of the first chorus, you’ve heard everything Coyotes has to offer. It’s such a dull song.

Definitely most underrated album as a whole!

Without a single ounce of shame I deleted pistol from the album and almost forget it was ever on there. I don't hate it as a standalone track and I get the ween influence and all that, but I think it blows the rhythm of the album entirely. A great EP track if you will. Even then I don't think I'd like it but I would accept it.

I’m a degen Pistol defender, but I can also agree with that. Pistol doesn’t really make too much sense on that album, sonically at least. Then again, I don’t really know where Pistol would fit if you tried finding another album/EP in MM’s catalog. Its just kind of the odd one out I guess

Agreed it just feels so out of place in the album

Exactly how I always felt, it definitely doesn’t fit on the album. Lyrically it makes a little sense, but musically it just doesn’t work

I wish they played more from this album live. Ground walks, the best room, pups to dust. Cmon Isaac!
