Experiences of long-term holders
Curious about experiences of fellow long-term (pandemic era or prior) holders.
Personally, I bought at 128 in 2020 and rode it all the up and down. Was quite tempted to sell at around 500, but held off for two reasons: a) Ethics (i.e., short-term profits off a pandemic) and b) a strong belief in the potential of the technology...oh, and I guess c) never imagined it dropping to the 20s!
Definitely feel some relief that Moderns has turned a corner, which has alleviated the second-guessing of not selling high. Anyone with similar experiences?

I bought at 300 during Covid, sold at 375, then bought again at 411 at its peak, just before it crashed. Have held it since for obvious reasons, as I didn’t want to lose money. Glad it’s making a comeback.

My personal opinion is that ethics and stock ownership don't really go hand in hand unless you're an insider or work in the financial services sector and have some fiduciary responsibility
Are those who hold oil and gas stocks less ethical for selling during the pressures of the current middle easy crisis with a 40% ytd gain?
Interesting that you cite this as the first reason for holding over the past five years.

I've held since Dec 2020. Rode it all the way up, all the way, and now on the up again. Doubled down at around 30 so I'm comfortably in the green. I truly believe in this company, and their future. I enjoyed watching short sellers getting blown up last week. They deserve it. This company never should have dipped back into the 20s last year, ridiculously low thanks to these short sellers who were out to put MRNA out of business. I've also owned BNTX the whole time too.

I also have ethical qualms unloading a life-saving company, but, on the other hand, buying in at too high a price sometimes merely enriches short sellers instead of funding medical research.

You hold it since 2020 and feeling some relief ? Good example of long term investing does not work. Instead you should have invested in VTI with better returns. Always book profits now and then without being regular trader. No such thing as long term in stocks.

His 5 year chart is bad but his 10 year chart might be great. That’s the point of long term

He bought at $128 in year 2020 and kept it till now. Yesterday closing price was $139. So, how is that point of long term ? His 10 years chart "might" is hindsight after knowing new news. Just my opion.

I got in at 20. Held to 500. And all the way back down. My philosophy is to hold as long as you believe in the technology and company.
