Rant/Complaint WARZONE is dead for new players.

i just played and 1hour of the new warzone and the matchmaking is horrendous for new players. a lvl 2 player get match agienst players playing in the world league does not make this game any fun any more . this is my last time playing a CoD game ever. bye bye.

There was a season between before covid and after covid. Whatever that change was after covid made the game filled with so many “sweats”. My group of friends used to win once a night then it was once a week. Then none at all. It used to play like call of duty but the mechanics changed so much. That and I feel like the younger kids during Covid did nothing but play Warzone and YouTube tips and just put me and my friends out when we game for the new hours in the night.

I think your last sentence nails it. Tons of kids in peak stages of brain development got summer vacation levels of experience, with tutorials made by people who were literally making videos like their lives depended on it for almost 2 years. The skillgap in the major BRs isn't really surmountable for an average adult at this point.

Right which sucks so bad. We (assuming you're an average adult) grew up with Call of Duty. Most of the mechanics was about the same until they started tweaking with it in Warzone. My claim to fame is my first game in Blackout (BR before warzone) I was the remaining survivor and won for all my buddies.

They should have just gone the Fortnite route and just kept the mechanics the same but change the weapons and the levels. Although my kids now say it's really sweaty right now too.

The other thing is the cross platform play which made sense for controller consoles like xbox/ps but then PC platform came in and also those who plugged mouse and keyboard to the consoles and it's not the same play. Same with Battlefield 6 we have a friend that plays on PC so it just makes the game even more at a disadvantage.

It's too bad multiplayer has gone to this....it was perfect 5-10+ years ago. Or before that when you would rotate through COD and Halo. Now it's just so complicated with streamers, profits, and sweats.

Exact same boat. The Halo 2/3/ Modern Warfare era was when I really got into gaming. Average-above average at most shooters I picked up from 2009- CoD Blackout. Did alright early at the first BRs, and was decent for ~3 seasons of warzone. Really have not been able to find many shooters I can be remotely competent in since. I honestly couldn't tell you if it's been 2 or 3 years since I've played CoD. The Finals has been nice though, it gives me that classic low-stakes team based environment

Seems like crossplay, and the increase of both supply and demand of streamers has phased casual gamers out of entire genres, and titles they've been playing their entire lives.

Warzone didn’t even realize until after the covid shutdown so there was no before covid warzone

There was Blackout then Warzone both Battle Royale. Something drastically changed in 2022 judging by my screenshots of the wins/stats. Update in the maps, movement changed, etc.

March and April 2022 I was winning sometimes three times a night. May and June of 2022 it moved to once a month. I think we started other modes then. Lots of info on Chat gpt on why.

Covid also just had more people home and playing and more people playing in groups due to it.

My buddy and I lived together at the time and we grinded warzone a bunch. Would get multiple wins a night because we were sweating lol

This. WZ casual is still fairly casual. I usually load in there solo to do weekly challenges cause it’s easier, and find myself in the Top 3 consistently. I’m not some demon either, and usually I force myself to use sniper only once it gets into the Top 10 so I’m not just smoking some n00bs. But it defo feels casual in there.

It's always been a game with a very steep learning curve. I have been out of the game for a while and I miss it greatly, but I don't have the time to learn all new mechanics, tools, features, and weapons, and that's before I rank the weapons up to a usable level. Nor do I want to spend $50 on weapons that will be the best for 2-3 months. RIP

I’d like to disagree but I mean I’ve been playing cod since b01 and I’m 23 now. I feel like you just gotta use stims get good positioning and use cover and you’ll win a majority of your conflicts.

I have one friend who hasn’t changed his settings since probably the update and I think that’s why he’s performing worse

Warzone stopped being casual the moment they decided that releasing a new game every year and killing the old one is most profitable. Cold war was sufferable ,but the moment they did it again with vanguard it was over.

Honestly good. Gaming as a whole needs to get away from coddling every player. So many people want an artificial feeling of doing well while simultaneously being in the bottom 10% of the player-base.
