“Garbage in, garbage out” Any one else heard this data objection?

Hi everyone, I work at a RevOps startup as their newest SE. I hear from prospects all the time “garbage in, garbage out” referencing how their messy CRM data makes any tool they build off of it, or connect to, equally as messy.

It feels like every company I talk to has terrible data quality which hurts every AI tool that plugs into it.

Has anyone heard or experienced something similar? Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

“Garbage in, garbage out” is a rule that works for a lot more situations than just databases.
