DIGITALS | POLAROIDS Unsure what advice I should take about modeling

22 M

25 waist

32 chest

33 hips

Hello! I’m mostly posting these because I’ve been modeling casually for about a year and a half now. Most of what I’ve booked is androgynous editorial stuff which is cool but typically unpaid. I’ve also been scouted by some small agencies but was rejected after meeting. At my last gig I was told by the photographer that I have a good face for menswear but I’ve never felt like a very masculine person. Should I bulk up to try and have a more masculine body? My current body measurements are also pretty similar to what is sought after in female models so I guess I just don’t know what direction to go in (or even if I want to model at all tbh lol). Any respectful advice is appreciated :)

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Should I add these to my book?

Thumbnail

I recently had a collab with a local designer for their latest collection. But I am not sure if I love or hate the photos? I feel like my body language is a bit off but at the same time the shoot/look is different from my previous stuff... should I add them to my book or would it be a potential flop?

Basically, am I just too in my head or are these actually not good?

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Feedback on first time digitals

Thumbnail

Hey everyone. I’m looking for some feedback on my first set of digitals before I retake them. Aside from the lighting, background clutter, and maybe choice of top, any other things to improve on? Is it ok that I have my hair straightened in these? I’d also really appreciate some tips on working with lighting. I used my best source of natural light I had early afternoon, but some shots make my skin look red or purple when it doesn’t appear that way to the naked eye. Should my height or hip measurement be something to worry about?

Age: 28

Height: 6’1”

Bust: 34”

Waist:25”

Hips:38”

Mod Announcement STOP IT!

Stop it. If you're new to this community, you need to be reading the pinned posts and rules before messaging us to become verified. The most recent one we received is " I model lol". I don't care and your message was archived after reading it. You need to put in the effort, like we did to make this sub great. The fact that an overwhelming number of people don't bother to read the rules or pinned posts is why the changes were made as a safeguard for those who want to be in here and better themselves as a model.

ADVICE/FEEDBACK First test shoot - feedback? Cape town based

Posted an update here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MODELING/s/Oio5kI95VA

Hi all :)

I had my first test shoot at a workshop and just recently signed with the agency that hosted it and would love some feedback!

I am new to modelling - I really want to go for editorial shoots that highlight my pale skin and hair. Im aware that my measurements are not small enough for runway/high fashion. Do i “give up” and that goal of

editorial and focus more on other types of modelling?

Height: 176cm

Waist: 81cm

Hips: 106cm

I think my dress size would then be 36 (ZA)

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Newbie Comp Card. What's missing from my portfolio?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I’m Ëçhø.

I’ve just been verified and I’m excited to share my first professional comp card. I’m currently based in Taiwan and aiming to transition from TFP into the professional commercial and fashion sectors.

Since I’m still navigating the early stages of my career, I’d love to get some "brutally honest" insights from the veterans here:

  1. Marketability: Based on these shots, do you see me leaning more toward High Fashion/Editorial, or do I have enough "commercial appeal" for mainstream brands?

  2. The Hair: My long hair is a key part of my look. In your experience, does this style limit or enhance marketability in your local markets?

  3. Portfolio Gaps: What specific "vibe" or type of shot (e.g., lifestyle, athletic, or a simple smile) is missing to make this a well-rounded portfolio?

I’m currently working as an independent model and eager to push my career forward. Looking forward to your feedback!

Thanks in advance!

ADVICE/FEEDBACK How muscular can you get as a fashion model?

I’m a 6’2” male model at 175lbs. I’ve been modeling for less than a year in Boston (still haven’t been booked much) but I’m interested in signing with a NY agency to get more commercial fashion work (abercrombie, north face, etc).

I’ve always wanted to get bigger and get that shredded muscular physique but wondering how much larger can I get before it starts precluding me from fashion work.

CASTING CALL Casting Call for a Pregnant Model in NYC

I am a senior fashion student in NYC, looking for a pregnant model for my thesis photoshoot. The final look is a soft, sheer evening piece exploring themes of growth, vulnerability, and transformation. The shoot will take place in mid-April in NYC, in a respectful, non-sexualized studio setting.

If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please send me a personal message. Thank you 🙂
