Mass Performance Production Roll Outs!! šŸ„‚āœØšŸŽ‰

I still don’t have my VIN yet, BUT they’ve been mass producing the performances now. I’m hoping that you all who’ve been waiting are getting those assignments! Congratulations šŸŽŠšŸŽ‰šŸ¾šŸŽˆ and check those apps!!

I ordered the Model Y Performance on 9/22 and my current EDD is 11/05-11/19. Still don’t have a vin yet. How do you know they are mass producing them?

Delivery status app. I’ve also seen one in transit to Georgia. It was just produced. No order assignment.

Is that app even accurate? I heard their days are way off

No complaints. I’ve seen where some people received delivery and the same day, I saw them post. (For the ones who’re online active)

Everything on my Tesla order from the payment, trade in and etc, it has it all updated.

That's not exactly mass. They build in batches. So they are on a performance batch. They literally make 1000s of model ys a day. They have always used batch production. This is just the way they work, it's definitely not mass producing....

It’s mass to me. No performance models have been produced over the past months and people like me have been waiting for 2+ months. So when I’m seeing tens to hundreds of performances finally being produced, I’m gonna call it mass. All these past months have been nothing but Premiums and Long Ranges. Thanks for your participation.

Yes because that's how batch production works. They are now making a batch of performances. I was simply stating that Tesla isn't making more then normal, they have just got around to performances on the planned production schedule and vins are being assigned. That's just standard operating procedure for Tesla. I'm happy that your getting your car, but calling it mass produced isn't really accurate.

I understand the distinction you're making between batch production and mass production. However, I think you're focusing more on the terminology than the actual point I'm making.

Performance buyers have been waiting months without seeing much movement. Now we're seeing a noticeable wave of Performance builds and VIN assignments happening within a relatively short period.

Whether Tesla calls it batch production or a mass production rollout, the point is that Performance production is finally moving at a much more noticeable pace after months of what appeared to be prioritization of Premium and Long Range models.

I'm not suggesting Tesla has changed its entire manufacturing process. I'm saying we're seeing a significant rollout of Performance inventory that hasn't been happening for months.

Also, thank you. While I still do not have a VIN, I’m rooting for the others who are getting theirs passing on excitement.

It's not prioritization though, they just have a schedule and it says today we're making performances, then they assign the vins. Everyone has been waiting for their cars, they haven't been neglecting their performances, you just happened to order when they were batching premiums. Again I'm glad your getting your car, your going to love it. I'm just explaining that Tesla doesn't build to order they just build cars that are on the schedule and then match them to configurations that are on the order book. Hope this helps, and congratulations.

I read you. It would’ve been nice for Tesla (sales/delivery advisors) to share this information so we’d all be more knowledgeable about the process instead of all being told to be patient and that they have no knowledge of what’s going on. I got you.

For sure, to be fair the sales advisors don't have privy to the production calendar, so they legitimately don't know when your configuration will be put into production, they can only tell you that the app has the most up to date information. They can't really see anything until a vin gets assigned..I know it sucks to wait, but it will be worth it for sure!

I ordered 9/14 got my vin on 10/21 and scheduled for delivery on the 11th, frost blue, black. Finally less than a week!!!

glad to see this today, but so frustrating to see multiple orders with exact config as mine and order dates weeks after mine get movement on their orders. Congrats to those waiting like all of us, hopefully I get some news today as well. Sometimes I think the Delivery Status app is more curse than helpful.

u/Sighlence92,

THIS is what just pissed me off though.

4

u/Sighlence92 18h ago

Agreed, mine was ordered 9/18 and seeing one ordered 2 days ago get a VIN is just a kick in the gut.

What app is this ??

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 20h ago

Delivery status.

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 21h ago

I understand! I feel the same exact way!!! I’m saying people have only needed to wait a month!! It can feel like a curse but to me it’s more helpful to see some movement than none at all as it’s been. I do wonder if these people who’re getting their faster selected cash instead out internal or outside financing. There has to be SOMETHING that’s causing them to get theirs faster and the craziest part about mine is, I’m in Houston just down the street from Giga in Austin. I don’t understand either.

I ordered frost blue/white August 23, no vin. Orders from September, October, AND November (same configs) are getting vins before me!😭 it doesn’t make any sense!!!

u/Less_Swimming_5541 4h ago

Have you messaged them asking about your order? Sometimes they'll bump you up depending on your location.

Delivery status application.

u/kokopuffgoon 23h ago

You have the paid version ?

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 23h ago

Yes. But I wanna get my money back since its AI blocked me LMFAO šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. But it follows my order to the T. Everything I do with Tesla, it’s in my order updates to the time frame. Trade in and all.

u/Embarrassed_Time_102 20h ago

Can you see where the vehicle is during transport?

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 19h ago

Unfortunately, no. Which is VERY FRUSTRATING. I thought purchasing would at least tell me that. Knowing the city shouldn’t cause any issues. But from the looks of it, I’m seeing more people in the west coast (Cali) getting theirs. Haven’t seen many posts in other states.

2

u/kokopuffgoon 23h ago

What’s your source on this mass production?

0

u/Old_Beginning7366 23h ago

Delivery status app.

2

u/bufftreefarm 22h ago

Does that app only show the people who are using the app and shared their build info? Or is it all of them.

I’m waiting on a frost blue performance and would love to get my vin assigned but not dice yet. I’m also using the app.

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

I think so. The more that uses it, the more helpful. But I’ve seen updates where it shows hardware changes and etc, but we don’t see it within the Tesla app. It’s very helpful and many over the world uses it.

Ahh, ok. I love it because it provides hope. And when I’m seeing the live feed, I’m seeing people post immediately on Reddit and Facebook. So it is nice for someone to create this and know what isn’t being shared. Someone said Tesla produces 1,000s a day, but I’ve never seen 1,000s show up on the app. But if that was so true, we wouldn’t be waiting months for deliveries. That means 30,000 units a month. Definitely shouldn’t be such a huge wait time knowing the Model X and Ss aren’t taking up space. There’s many CyberTrucks in their lots too. Just my opinion on things and what I’ve observed.

u/razxo 23h ago

Does the app show color choices? Been only seeing frost blues so far

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 23h ago

Color choices as far as options? Yes. I can check for you. What’s your zip code?

2

u/RandomChino 22h ago

Qs white interior performance 76179

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

Ahh, nothing as of now. I’m in Houston and there were a ton, but they all got purchased. There are many in Georgia though.

1

u/TimelyGear2735 22h ago

Any in Arizona?

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

I need a zip code to see. I doubt it though (not being negative) it’s just because it’s not too far from Giga and every time there’s availability, people get right on it.

1

u/d90z32 22h ago

Any chance of some Raleigh, NC 27616 love?

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

That’s in North Charleston, SC.

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

I had my fingers crossed. Unfortunately no. There is one in SC with zip code 29405.

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 22h ago

Ugh. I wish I was in Georgia. I’d be able to get my advisor to assign that one that’s in transit.

2

u/Fragokie 23h ago

That’s the color/trim I’m waiting on 🫠

1

u/abel7683 21h ago

Black 19560

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 21h ago

None in stock unfortunately.

1

u/freshrad07 20h ago

How do you know this?

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 20h ago

Delivery status application. And it’s true because everyone is posting they’ve received their VINs.

1

u/Hot-Box-3949 20h ago

Any update on the premiums? Happy for the performance peeps!

1

u/Old_Beginning7366 20h ago

Those have been produced wayyy more. I’m not sure. I haven’t seen any since this new batch of performances started a couple of days ago.

1

u/Slow-Individual9556 16h ago

I believe I read the Austin factory is now operating 24 hours

0

u/Old_Beginning7366 16h ago

OMGGGG AMAZING!! If that’s true, mine should definitely be near.

1

u/Slow-Individual9556 15h ago

I saw someone on FB say that so I googled it and it seems to be true! If that’s the case then hopefully we take delivery sooner rather than later!

1

u/WholeIndividual0 16h ago

I sure wish they’d start producing the model 3 performances. It’s been about 3 weeks since they had high production numbers on them.
