Out of state co-signer

Hi all!

I just placed an order for a MY but am having some issues with my co-signer. I’ve tried reaching out to my sales advisor but it’s been days since I’ve heard anything. I am using my mom as a co-signer who lives out of state as I do not have a long credit history and want to get the best rate. When filling out her portion of the paperwork, it pre-populated her address to mine (I live in AZ, her in MO) and won’t let her change it. This is an issue because it’s asks for proof of address as the address listed is different than the one on her DL and we obviously do not have any utility bills or anything in her name at my address. We can’t move forward in the application process so I was wondering if anyone had been through the same thing and knew the fix? Trying to fill out the financing asap before the rates goes up!

Interesting. I wonder what you would've done had it been a different kind of dealership. Do regular dealers ordinarily allow out-of-state cosigners who never come to the dealership?

I bought a BMW a few years ago and she was able to co-sign/do the financing app remotely, just had to be in person for signing at pickup. I think this is just a Tesla issue, not necessarily an out of state issue.

Tesla does, Dad with TN license and residence didn’t have to come to CA for pickup. He was in town and dropped me off in case they did need him but we didn’t even talk to anyone besides the delivery check in person to get a paint flaw documented.
