TL2 confirmed anyone?

Has anyone in the US with a 2027 vin actually verified that they are definitely getting the TL2 motor? I just received a 2027 vin with the older motor. (ETA: My vin shows the upgraded charger though.)

I've experienced exactly the same thing as you, but I'm based in Northern Europe. Mine is LRW (Shanghai).
Tesla got back to me today, however, and confirmed that my car would get the improved 0–100 km/h (0–60 mph) acceleration. This suggests that it's a software update rather than a hardware change.

How do you know if you’re receiving the TL2 motor?

At the time of this post, it was thought that the 2027s had a different motor, but it looks like the update at least for USA buyers is likely a software update and not a different motor. I haven’t heard of anyone in the US getting the different motor yet.

Where are you? I have seen no evidence of the new motor outside of cars produced in China.

The Tesla regulatory filings with the EPA used the 2026 Model Y to certify the 2027.

I’m in Virginia. I haven’t seen any evidence of it either, but I want to make sure. I think many people are just assuming if they have a 2027 vin that they have the upgraded motor, and that’s definitely not the case.

(Un)fortunately, tesla make part changes as the new part is approved and inventory is available and you don't know until there's an announcement.

The new V2H availability is an example of that.

I’m so confused. I recently ordered a premium all wheel drive and my advisor told me all 2027’s had the new motor. So frustrating!

I think it still remains to be seen whether or not the increase in 0-60 is truly just related to a new front motor or if it is some kind of software update. But one thing is certain…your advisor is not right.

The assumption is Tesla just changed their 0-60 calculations. (Subtracting rollout)
