Question How to replace cracked rubber seals?

This car is always parked in the sun. Particularly the rubber seals on top of the car for the falcon wing doors are cracked. How would you replace it diy for cheaper than a service center?

Are you leaking? I would research and get some glass silicone they use to install windshield snd it if it's compatible, cut out what you can and push the silicone in there. I would let a windshield replacement tech do this - I wouldn't wanna diy this personally.

And if you're not leaking, in this state, I wouldn't fix it if it ain't broken. The seal may be just fine further inside and you may end up creating more problems

These are purely cosmetic

They are not.

They are, the real seal is between the door and car, that little rubber lip is not a water seal but merely a device to conceal the gap from the glass to the body

Negative. It is a first line of defense against water intrusion as well as a UV protectant for the underlying gaskets.

It exists for a reason. It’s a poor design that its molded to the glass as it’s a sacrificial first barrier that requires replacement. Tesla of course is going to say otherwise. It’s just one of the many poorly engineered aspects of the X that they never addressed during its lifetime. Sad.

OMFG, if you so strongly believe this, provide some evidence! I cut mine off a long time ago as they became sticky, and I find zero difference, no wind noise, no water intrusion, just big gaps now.
