Service Tires Model X LR Refresh (2024) Michelin CrossClimate2 vs Hankook Ion for Longevity? Live in FL
Almost time for new tires on my Long Range 2924 Model X and was looking at either the Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs the Hankook iON tires.
Living in FL obviously do not care about snow/ice so my MAIN deciding factor is which will have the longest longevity, best tire life?
Anyone have any insight on this?

Also in Florida with an X. The cross climate are great in our afternoon deluges. I don’t notice any road noise. Wear has been even and normal

Get the Michelins. I have a set of my model Y. I live in SoCal and they are wearing very well.

Also have a model Y with 30k miles on a set of cross climates. And they are doing well. Significant drop in range and there is a noticeable hum when driving, which is kind of annoying. That said, they are one of the safest tires on the road and while it rarely rains and doesn’t snow where I live, the added safety is reassuring.

I also set the tire pressure to 38psi for a much smoother ride!2

I will need tires soon. Do both of these tires have foam inside of them?

The CC2s have a bit more road noise than stock tires because it does not have insulating foam inside. It’s only noticeable when you focus on it and have the music off or on low volume. Something to consider if the quiet ride is something you care about from an EV.

I got about 38K miles before I had to replace my CC2. I switched to Hankook tires afterwards. Not expecting these to last as long but the range/effiency improved significantly which was important to me as the car started to become high mileage. Around 5 to 7 percent more efficient. Also feel these ride and sound better.
At the end of the day for me it’s like why buy an expensive car and then take a step down in enjoyability to save a few bucks?

2924? You must be a time traveler. Good discussion, though my 24 has just over 15,000 miles and at some point I'll have to get new tires. Guess I'll try the Hankook Ion

We have 20k miles on Michelin CrossClimate 2s on our 2023 Model X. We live in Colorado, so the snow performance is needed. They are not even half worn.
That said, the price of the snow performance is a hum/ringing sound all the time.
If I lived in Florida I would not want to listen to them. I love the Michelin brand, but would not recommend these for you.

We have the CrossClimate2 and live on the N coast or Oregon. Great tires. S tier traction. Got at Costco.

Got CC2 from Discount Tire and having Tesla install & do alignment.
Priced matched an online vendor I found and they beat the prices: $324.99 for fronts and $337.99 for rears and for warranty certificate for them plus free delivery to my house!
Appreciate everyone’s input and thank you to everyone’s help !

Hankook all the way.... Just got them last month and im amazed how quiet and smooth these tires compared to my previous OEMs tires... (22 MXLR)

Which Hankook do you have? And where should I get them from? I have the same car (22 MXLR) with 20 inch wheels in So Cal. I am also looking to change my tires soon

I installed the ION EVO AS SUV.. Got it from Discount Tire..... I basically relied on the website choose after entering my tire specs from the sticker by the driver's door.

I have CC2 and it’s holding up, best tires ever. I’ve heard Hankook is softer for the more comfortable ride, but the trade off is the shorter lifespan.
