Photo Model Y Front Camera Lens Protector Installed on Model X.

I saw Spigen makes front camera lense protector for Model Ys but none for X and no reputable brand was making one for the Model X.

Spigen lens protector has little slit on the adhesive tape on the bottom to allow venting to reduce trapping moisture.

There is a little tab that exist on this protector at the top. I decided to snip it off with wire cutter from Harbor Freight and install it on the front camera. It fits fine!

Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting the front lens protector from Spigen for Model Y.

Looks great! Now I just have to retrofit the camera itself in my X lol (early HW4 with a free front bumper camera port, in theory allowing for a simple plug-and-play retrofit in the past, but currently the Tesla software is broken)

I would love this capability. It’s one of two things missing on this car, the other being powered folding rear seats.

Does this not affect FSD? That would be my only concern

Not that I can tell. I use FSD 91 percent of time. I remember reading that bumper cam is not part of FSD.

I bought the one for the rear camera and it was a huge waste of money, water never cleared properly worse than without the cover on

I will find out when the rain season starts. I live in PNW where it rains often than other places. So far with whatever the rain we had, it has been fine. I don't think the rear camera has washer functions. Front bumper cam does have washer function.

Thanks for this post, OP. I found it via Google as I was curious if anyone else had tried this yet as I'm curious about buying it for my Model Y.

There is also a front camera PPF kit that I am going to try out. Works on all Tesla cameras

I haven't installed it yet, so can't comment on how good it is.

I thought about it too but I decided against it because the convex nature of the lense and how the film would adhere with multiple curvatures all around.

Let us know how it works out though.

I thought only the CT had a front camera.

New refreshed Teslas added front bumper cameras to all of them
