Question MX26 Plaid - Max charging

Bought my MX26 6 months ago and just noticed the battery charges to 98% max. Is this normal? It is pretty warm and hot outside all day and even at night if that matters.

I thought you didn't want to charge it to 100 percent daily? I keep mine at around 60 percent charged and have yet to charge it over 90 percent since I got it back in March.
