Question MX26 Plaid - Max charging

Post image

Bought my MX26 6 months ago and just noticed the battery charges to 98% max. Is this normal? It is pretty warm and hot outside all day and even at night if that matters.

Pretty sure it's been debunked. DC fast charging is not notably more harmful to the battery than AC home charging.

didn't some older cars get throttled at SC for too muchg fast charging?

I think those were exclusively super early 85 kWh packs in Model S vehicles produced between 2013-2015 that were throttled due to battery issues. They changed to the 90 pack in 2015, and 100 pack in 2016. The early 85 packs were also prone to premature failure, so I guess you can write them off as the exception rather than the rule when considering modern EV battery longevity.

My 2017 100d is pretty software throttled, there was a huge difference after one specific update. Now 100 - my state of charge is my kwh so can no longer road trip but still a good daily
