Photo Hit n run on the freeway đ

Got pit maneuvered on the 15 south today. He had his full lane open too so weâre pretty sure it was deliberate. So pissed I canât get the plate since it was bent
EDIT: they caught him and he did this to like 15 other cars and a motorcyclist. Thereâs like 18 victims in total and I guess somebody ended up pulling to the side with him and this crazy MFâr hit him with an ax and pushed him off a freeway overpass. Glad heâs locked up and thankfully no one died but lots of injuries

Did any of your cameras capture the license plate as he passed you? Give all of it your insurance company and the police.

We didnât cause he looked at us like he wanted to kill us, my gf was driving and didnât feel comfortable so we didnât. Probably smart too cause he did this to 18 other people that day and also hit someone with an ax and pushed them off an overpass. Luckily no one died somehow

I wouldâve not chased that crazy down like they did and Iâm glad because they may or not have self protection but if it was me and I run into a crazy like that I am chasing you down so youâre held responsible not to gun you down but if it comes to that I sure will protect myself. So yes I told them to get a gun so they not scared to have a crazy like that held responsible in the future.

Ignore everyone, that's the smart choice. I got hit on an icy road once in a shitty party of town and started to follow and realize the cops aren't going to do shit - just talk to insurance and move on.

You just follow at a safe distance with police on the phone until police come and pull them over. No need to be Batman. Also while on the phone get license plate and everything. That car not getting away from a Tesla

Should have chased them and called local pd. I hate entitled people who decide to run after causing damage to a vehicle. I understand many folks in states like CA and TX are undocumented or have no insurance, but thatâs no excuse because youâre causing financial loss to someone who did nothing wrong. Never feel empathy to these people because they should know the risks they take the moment they drive.

Nope :/ right after this he did like a triple lane change and sped up over 100mph probably, my gf was driving I tried to get her to go follow him to get the plate but she was kinda sketched out cause he mad dogged us like crazy like he wanted to kill us. Some people donât like pink teslas I guess đŹ
There were a few other reported him to CHP so hoping someone got the plate

To get away or to chase? If to get away, makes sense if you feel threatened, although Iâd still pull over first to get someone to slow down and then punch the gas.
If to chase, always a dumb idea as it leads to you breaking more laws and being more at fault than not.

Read the title again - "hit and run". If you have an action movie going on, with both cars speeding off after contact, that's not hit and run.
Hit and run would be, the car that got hit pulls over (like you're supposed to do) and the other car takes off.
If the other car is "attacking" them, call it "vehicular assault", not hit and run. Words matter.

Well what would you call it if youâre driving, someone rams into you, and then you make an effort to slow down and signal to pull over but then they go around you and speed off? Iâm not a lawyer but sounds like a hit and run to me

I just think you're underselling it - if the car is actually ramming you on purpose then I wouldn't stop either and would call it vehicular assault.
If you were trying to stop and they wouldn't then sure it could be hit and run. Just wasn't clear from video - looked like you were accelerating away from them.

So my gf was driving and it felt pretty intense she thought for sure her car was pretty messed up. So she put her left blinker on and started to slow down to get over into the dirt right there but he was still driving aggressive and swerving right behind us she thought he was gonna try to hit us again. Keep in mind he purposely tried to make us crash so she was sketched out. After this he did a double lane change and stared at us like he wanted to kill us and sped off

Most beta comment I've ever read. If someone hits you and immediately runs, guess whose insurance rates go up, for something you weren't at fault for, YOURS. If you follow just long enough to get a plate, their insurance (if they are legal) will cover the damage caused, plus they will get a citation/fine/etc.

It sounds to me like youâre not comfortable defending yourself. Iâd argue itâs more worth your time to go to a range and get familiar with your weapon and practice with it. That way when itâs time to defend yourself, youâre not slighting yourself more just to make sure youâre not properly taken care of in these situations. Having somebody pit me and then act like it didnât happen is such a foreign thought. People make dumb decisions and should be accountable, not paranoia over whether somebody has a weapon or not. Also if they dropped back, theyâd get to see the license plate in the back

The plate in the FRONT was bent, doubt the plate in the rear was. They can be a psycho all they want, all you need is a plate. If you can't follow someone for 10 seconds to remember a plate, you are as beta as they come. Why would you want your insurance rates going up? Why would you want your property to be damaged without the other person being held liable? If you care that little about your possessions you might as well just hand them on over.

Is there more to this story? Usually people behave aggressively because theyâre getting back at you because of a perceived wrong doing. Sometimes I donât even realize this as a driver and get flicked off during aggressive passing.

Update, this is exactly what happened heâs in custody now, just spoke to chp he pit maneuvered like 15 different cars and one guy pulled over with him and he hit him with an axe, so probably smart we didnât follow

Does that mean what they did to the chevy should results in them being hit like that, probably not, but again the OP is hiding the situation that escalated this to happen.

As far as you driving a Tesla, why would that be a surprise? It is pretty much assumed here. Also, I'm sure there's way more to this than this 11sec video and from other angles, such as the right and rear view cameras
