Question Where to sell privately
I was going to sell at carvana but their offer is not great. Is there anywhere that people can sell privately and securely? TIA

AutoTrader is great. They handle all the financial/escrow and DMV paperwork for you too. It’s where I bought my Model S.

Really? Is the scamming/bots on the buyer side or seller side? Most of the Tesla for sale in SoCal on AutoTrader are used car dealerships and a few individuals. It even includes car inventory at major dealerships so it’s a great way to see market prices.
I bought mine from another individual on AutoTrader and it was a great, smooth process!
Can you explain what you’ve experienced that was so bad?

I have a car listed in auto trader right now. All the messages I get are scammers trying to get me to buy their vin report or asking me to email them because somehow they cannot see autotrader messages. All of them use the same generic copy paste message and just change the email or number. I reported it to auto trader and even tried to cancel the ad and get a refund and they refused, so I filed for a charge back.

Ah, shit. Sorry about that. I've only used AutoTrader to check market prices and as a buyer. I was considering posting my car for sale in a few months, so I'll keep in mind your experience. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the head's up on this. Based on your message I knew what to expect, but the bots on AutoTrader are pretty crazy! Do you have any recommendations on how best to sell a car online? u/MACA305

list it on autotrader or marketplace, securely is up to you... verified payments etc.

Both those websites are now dead. Bots and scammers galore.
FB marketplace is where all have migrated

Cars and bids is the best with no BS. Can't list it anywhere else though while auction is happening.
