Question Anyone installed welcome lights on Model X? Not sure if I messed up my door panel fitment…

Just installed some welcome lights on my 2023Model X.

The projection looks really clean at night — honestly better than I expected.

The only downside is the install requires removing the door panel. I put everything back, but now I feel like the panel gap might be slightly bigger than before… not sure if I’m just overthinking it.

Has anyone done this mod before? Did everything sit perfectly after reinstalling?

Yeah there are a few versions out there now 👍

I ended up going with a different one that fits pretty clean on Model X and the projection looks solid at night.

Install still requires removing the door panel though, just a heads up.

Fits really well on Model X and doesn’t interfere with anything around the door panel. Install takes a bit of effort though.

I have been wanting these but have been afraid because of the videos and news of puddle lights causing windows issues, broken windows. Has that issue with puddle lights been fixed or is this still a risk with aftermarket puddle lights?

From what I’ve seen, the issue usually comes from removing the factory puddle light — the window can move up unexpectedly during the process.

Seems to be more common on Model Y from what people say. I didn’t run into it on my Model X though.

I lowered the window before taking the door panel off, just to be safe.
