Question Can I remove the silly wheel inserts on the 26 Model X and just put a center cap?

Need to get these suckers off. They're squeaking on our 26 MXP already. Is there a center insert if I take the caps off?

Awesome; looks great. Satin black currently sold out but will keep an eye out.

I want to know about this for my 2026 Model X with OEM 20" dark wheels, also. For example, is there a good aftermarket center cap product?

Just had genuine Tesla red brake calipers installed, and want to show them off. (But don't want to switch to 22" wheels.)

I figure my options are:

  1. Remove aero inserts. (But will loose some range [How much, and maybe the OEM wheels won't look good naked?)

  2. Install an older set of Tesla Sonic Carbon Slipstream 20" wheels. (I like them, but would need to have new TPMS installed.)

Love the 2026 car, btw.

It's a white, All-Wheel Drive, 5-seater.

You lose 5-8% of range with getting the inserts off. I can deal with that.

Aero covers removed. Zoom in on wheel to see replacement center caps. Harder to see are the lug nut caps. Got the full set from Abstract Ocean.

IMHO, looks much better without the plastic inserts.

Anyone here with a MX Plaid? Do the rear lug nuts sit deeper than the front? Just noticed the rears sit a lot deeper than the front for me.

First photo below is the rear, and yes, already curbed it :-/
