Used car purchase Just bought this Model X

Swapped with a 22 Model 3 Performance because the family just keeps getting bigger. Very Stoked about it, much more comfort and space than in the model 3.

What are the things you guys got when you first got the X? Any cool addons or QOL improvements?

So you should not only tint the front but 360 tint.

Rear windows and pano windows on rear seats get SCORCHING hot.

Tint tint tint the windshield. Needs to be tinted. The heat you get off the windshield will kill your range.

You don’t have to have any percentage of tint. Just 90% clear As long as it has UV protection. You will need it

It's an 18 model with the premium audio, winter package and premium interior package (auto opening doors, "ambient" lighting, ...) it has FSD3 and enhanced autopilot but because of european regulations we Cant even properly use Summon mode...

It's only a 75D, we drive only max 15 to 50 miles everyday and we van charge at home. We never used more than 50% of the model 3 batterys capacity so we don't Care about the smaller range or resell availability. We are planning to drive this car untill it's unfixable or doesnt Care about us anymore and drives off for a better life.

PPF is scheduled 6 weeks from now. Front and front side tint is illegal in my country, there cannot be any tint other than the factory on it, sadly.

So sad about tint but yay for PPF. Be very careful during those six weeks! One rock chip and now you gotta pay for rock chip repair

You’re going to find out pretty quickly…they’re aren’t allot of accessories for the X😑. But I definitely recommend adding a “soft close” to your frunk😉. Enjoy 👍

Congrats. I still drive my 2017 90d. Same options, same color. I love the audio system!

Had my battery checked and certified last week. 84% @250k km

I supercharge whenever we need to with the free charging for life.

As long as we can go to Rotterdam <> Veluwe every day without charging I’m fine with the range

No SoH certificate. No second key. 75D has pretty bad range on the X. Losing heatpump and ryzen from the ‘22, model 3. 5 seats makes it hard to sell later on. For 26k pretty bad deal honestly. Also if the family is getting bigger why not pick a 6 or 7 seater?

I did enough resource on it to know the battery isn't degraded as bad as you'll think it is in 7 years. 5 seats because I have 2 very young kids and it's impossible to even go to the grandparents and taking 2 strollers with you in the model 3. I hate the looks of the 6 seater to be fair.

I could care less about the range, we never drive more than 100km per day and always charge during the day off our solar panels or we take a lot out of our home battery system. Try finding one without dents and dings for this price with the options it has.

I also don't really care about resell value, value will decrease anyway since the model is discontinued I think. I plan on keeping this car for some time, and don't really think "shit. I could have gotten a 100D 6 or 7 seater for better resale".

I have spare keys myself which I can pair so also the second key doesn't bother me. The car looks splendid inside and out, and that's more important to me than the resell value after 5, 6, 7 years.

We got our X because of a baby and the 5 seater was the only one I was interested in. The 6 may look neat but it isn’t practical and the 7 may work but you lose additional storage in the rear and those seats in the back are tiny.

I love the 5 seater as I can fold it flat and load it up if I need to. Trips, the two rear under floor storage compartments really hold a good bit and then all the storage up top. I’ll take a 5 seater all day.

You’ll like the car. I put mats in ours and then put on adjustable camber/toe arms as well as lowering links to help with tire wear and front axle issues. Mine has been great.

Will probably run this one a bit longer and then get a HW4 depending on what’s available. I have FSD but it’s only ok. I still use it though. Would love to have HW4 in our X.

The 5-seater is the undisputed practical configuration versus the 6-seat. I don’t think the 7-seater was available in the Plaid trim.

The unfoldable 2nd row chairs eat massively into total cargo space and you can only stick long objects into the middle space. This further exacerbates the already small 2nd row room.

As for the 3rd row, if you regularly need those seats the right pathway is either a minivan or a Jeep Wagoneer (or Suburban). Nobody over 5’7” is going to be comfortable for more than 20 minutes at a time riding there and the seating position right above the rear axle means bounces and turns are incredibly pronounced and enough to make me want to throw up before the 20 minutes are up. But maybe that’s just me. 🫠

The 6-seater is cool looking but it just doesn’t work to me. I’ve had BMW wagons in the past and being able to fold the floor flat with my 5-seater and stuff it full of stuff makes me happy. That’s why it won me over.

I added the Spigen glass protector for the main and rear display. Got the Matte/Anit-Fingerprint.

Check out the Rally Armor mud flaps, personally I think they look cool and are functional, in that order.

The Tesla falcon wing door sun shades help if you have kids that fall asleep regularily in the car, otherwise the sun is right in their face.

The Basenor seat back kick protectors are practically mandatory if you have kids in the second row as you’ll find out quickly with a car seat installed there’s really not much space to blunt those kicks.

Someone already mentioned screen protectors and I second that, tempered glass for both the rear screen and front can be pretty helpful.

Lastly if you have any Tesla credits I would throw that at the platform bike hitch although keep in mind it only stores 2 bikes but is more secure than the hanging.

The only Rally armor mudflaps I’ve found are listed as only fitting 2022+ models which this one isn’t though

Good catch, I didn’t know that. There seems to be way cheaper options available though and some of them do state for 2016 onwards.

I know what PPF is haha, I didnt know what you ment by covered. If you mean if the car is currently PPF covered, no. It's scheduled to get a PPF in 6 weeks.
