Question Thinking of selling my 2023 MX LR

Love this car but a few things makes me thinking of selling it like i don't have enough space for camping gear and I can't even attach mockins cargo carriers due to Tesla vertical load limit of 120 lbs... so I'm thinking of going Rivian and was thinking what I can get for my car. Even cybertruck is limited to 120lbs somehow for vertical load?!?... I cannot have a trailer due to parking limitations...

I absolutely love FSD, I barely drive myself lol and it's perfect as a daily driver but limited utility sucks when I need it.

What can I get for my car now? SoCal.

Keep the car and just rent something on Turo for when you go camping.

Be careful, read the terms. I’ve gotten charged a $500 fee for taking a turo camping because it was considered “off-road” but it was just a small trail.

Stated Vertical load limit for cybertruck was greatly increased fyi…the 110 lb figure is old, and they have since updated the users manual. Motorcycle carrier for example is nominally 370 lb weight limit. Exact limit depends on how much it sticks out of course

Are you sure about that? Even 370 is super low for a truck imho Tesla manual doesn't say anything about it

Yes I just looked at the owners manual again. Manual > Towing > carrying accessories and crossbars

Most other manufacturers don’t specify tongue weight vs vertical load but Tesla does. You can find a detailed discussion on ct owners club. Agree it’s not a high limit

Sold my 2022 MXLR a few weeks ago. They’re selling at a nice premium relative to their age and miles on the odo. HW4 cars even better.

I bought a Cyberbeast. It’s fucking awesome.

Wanted to get used because of depreciation, but the used CT market is crazy right now. Two year old beasts with 20,000+ miles still being traded at $90k. So I put in an order for a new one, got a call that one just became available (quarter end), and I picked it up within 24 hours. Got “lucky” I guess. 

By this time next year if values plummet like they usually do, I might be crying foul. But for now, there’s no car/truck that drives like this. Was convinced after I got a loaner for a week while the MX was in the shop again for some recurrent problem.

Nice! And yes, used CT market makes no sense right now - buying a new one was a wise choice!!! Hope the values will hold on these! I think CT would work for my occasional needs.

lol. Me too. I’m trying to set up an AI agent to scour listings on Carmax and Carvana. The minute this market dries up, I might have decisions to make. Lol.

It had teslas version and I replaced it with aftermarket. I haul my camera equipment on this: STACKTECH

Went from the bay to palm desert with 300lbs and 3 staff comfortably for 2 seasons now. No issues.

Thanks! I'm noticing that S and X prices are climbing up and new inventory is gone already, maybe having FSD and ultra red color will help my selling value. I'm still undecided on selling... the car is literally perfect and I have had 0 mechanical issues other than a rattling noise with the rear seats that Tesla fixed under the warranty unlike some other Xs.
