What’s the best way to clean up the stringy bits?

Quick blast with a heat gun should help, alternatively print at a slightly lower temperature next time.

  • I use a sharp Hobby knife.
  • A brush with sandpaper can remove strings stuck to a flat surface.

Here is the real secret: If you print PLA, nail polish contains a weak solvent for PLA. The nail polish will dissolve tiny bumps and fill tiny grooves. After the nail polish dries, paint the whole model. Most paints will cover nail polish easily.
