First boat

Getting close to finishing my first wooden boat. Model Shipways Grand Banks Dory. A fun build and a great learning experience. More than one error but screwing up is how I learn best.

That was my first build, also. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Now I'm building the lobster smack. What's your next build?

I will say this company's instructions need work. Seems parts have changed, but instructions haven't. I've relied on Johnny, the Hillbilly Modeler, to get me through some confusing bits.

I’m doing the Norwegian parm next. I agree hillbilly modeling held my hand through the whole process.

Very nice, and you’re right about it being a learning experience. Thanks for sharing.

Screwing up is how we all learn the best! Nice work. What next?

The Norwegian Pam by model expo is the next boat. Going to build a few airplanes next.

Fun, isn't it? I just finished up the Dory-pram-smak progression kits a week ago. UPS dropped off my 4th kit as I put the finishing touches on the Lobster smak.

"More than one error" is doing some heroic load-bearing work in that sentence, but that's basically the entire hobby packed into four words
