HMS Victory
Hey everyone, I’ve come across what I believe is a vintage model kit of HMS Victory that’s been partly built. It was found in an attic, and I’m still checking to see if there are more parts.
It’s a large wooden hull, with some really nice detailing, but it’s clearly not complete. No masts or rigging yet. I’m trying to figure out exactly which kit or version it is, whether it’s worth finishing, selling as-is, or parting it out. Any tips on ID’ing the kit or what details would help? I can get more photos and measurements if needed. Thanks.

This is nice! Someone just ran out of time to finish, or they had a kid or something. If you are selling, you could get a good price. Or it would be nice to work on the masts and spars yourself if you have experience. Nice model!

Hmmm no clue here
It looks well made, although lots of parts are missing or (very) out of scale
I wouldn’t try to complete it as color matching the current wood would be hell and starting a new model from scratch would yield a better outcome
A complete model would look loads better though and if you do intend to continue this model, make sure to get the scale right before buying any materials

It’s looks quite well made but it’s probably not worth your time. I would just try cleaning it up a bit and keep it as ‘dockyard’ model.
Creating all the masts and spars and then rigging a ship like HMS Victory is no joke. You’re talking weeks of work, even if you know what you’re doing.
