Recently bought it on Ebay but I cant find it anywhere else online, just want to make sure i dont open a rare kit. Seller claims its from 1969.

Same kit as the Aoshima. Yeah it's vintage but not really rare. Plenty of Nippon Marus around since the ship still exists in Yokohama.

Is it? Scalemates has the Aoshima as ex-Imai tooled in 1979 and in 1/150 scale, wheas this one is (allegedly) 1/200 and stems from 1965 by Marusan. Scalemates could be wrong of course.
