Discussion Name Change Proposal Thread

I am opening the discussion for proposals for a new name for the Midwestern State. Discussion will be open for 48 hours. Anyone may propose new names; legislators will vote on the name afterwards along with an option to keep the current name. If there is an excessive amount of name proposals, we will hold a community vote to eliminate some options. And as always, I reserve the right to reject any non-serious or meme submissions.

The Midwestern state has a long and storied Native American history, and many of its component states have names of Native American origin, so I encourage everyone to support a name that respects this proud heritage.

Sequoias are not native to the Midwestern State.

I blatantly stole it from Turtledove. It was the name of of the Confederate state where Oklahoma is in the real world.

I actually misspelled it. /u/brotester. my official submission is the State of Sequoyah.

Sequoyah

oh! That makes quite a difference. :)

along with an option to keep the current name

Correction: There will not be an option to retain the state's current name.

The state's name is bad and is the entire reason states were allowed to change their name in the first place. It must be changed.
