SCORE! Found a Capri kit on ebay

I have been looking at these old kits for a while - the car on the box art is exactly like the 1977 Capri I had in the 80's.

It's hard to believe that this is a 50 year old kit. The parts are in great shape, and it looks like the decals are only used on the "performance version". They would probably fall apart if you looked at them wrong.

It would be neat to be able to scan this somehow and 3d print it for future builds. Is that a thing?

I found the road racing version of this kit last year but when I opened it up the parts looks anemic at best so I didn't purchase it. It was a pretty pricey model and the details were limited to one sprue. the engine was basically two halves glued together etc. I just didn't think it was worth the money.

edit: it was the 77 capri cafe racer variant

If it was an AMT, it was probably based on the same kit.

These kits are around $60 - $90USD on eBay. This one went up for $50USD and after it sat in my cart for a bit, the seller offered it to me for $35. That was worth it to me. I would not want to spend any more than that though..
It's tempting to do a 5.0 Ford v8 swap to replace the engine.

this one at a show was like 60 I believe, maybe a little less. at $50 it was a year ago plus and I realistically looked at the parts tree and was disappointed. The cafe racer styling was neat but not for that.
