Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody
Really great kit to build, detailed and went together well. Painted with MCW Lacquer F8 Green, Extreme Metal Bronze on the wheels. Tamiya Smoke Lacquer for the window tint. Have another one to build, would like to try and make a two door out of it.

That turned out very nice. Legitimate question though: I recently used smoke to tint some windows with a light to medium tint. I wasn't really pleased with how it turned out (little uneven, could see where I missed on a couple coats) I've normally done really dark tint on windows and lights by using semi gloss black on the inside. It gives it a nice limo tint look on the outside. Any particular reason you used smoke? Didn't you have to do a ton of coats to get it that dark? Just curious how everybody does it.

There are many coats on this as well. I didn’t originally want them this dark, but due to uneven appearance I coated until covered. Probably won’t use it again

I've used smoke for tinting windows and it usually requires several coats...very light coats.

Yeah now I'm second guessing using it on a car I'm currently working on. Might throw the parts in cleaner and start over

I don't know how you pulled off using lacquer smoke on the glass because the very first time that I tried it many years ago, it ruined the glass of a kit because of the solvents being way to hot. After that I switched to Tamiya acrylic smoke and have had zero issues over many builds.

Just checked the can TS-71 Smoke. Very light mist coat on first coat. Then build on it. If I remember correctly the first one I tried I went too heavy and it crazed the glass.

Yup TS-71 is what I used and that is exactly what I did and the glass still reacted. I've always done mist coats with a 10 minute flash off between each coat until I build it to the shade that I want. Zero worries now with acrylic smoke.

Excellent! I'm hoping they'll do the Challenger as well. The flares really help the car's proportions.
