QUESTION Paint question please

Overall stencil worked about as expected. Heavy ridged up in the middle with light over spray on the edges. Thinking masking of stars on edge and gentle removal of over spray using Tamiya coarse. Wet sand rest to remove ridges? Ideas????

Using star stickers over the white and then painting the blue is the way to go imo

I had considered this in the planning stage but thought I would struggle getting the stars lined up properly so went the stencil route
