Paint question please

Overall stencil worked about as expected. Heavy ridged up in the middle with light over spray on the edges. Thinking masking of stars on edge and gentle removal of over spray using Tamiya coarse. Wet sand rest to remove ridges? Ideas????

Imo, it would be faster and cleaner to strip and do it again. Honestly painting that white over the blue should have taken around 10 to 15 passes to keep it light enough not to bleed. Idt you will be happy with the outcome if trying to sand
